A wonderful new tool!!

I went to one of my favorite places today, of course a quilt shop! I was just going in for thread, YEAH RIGHT, and found  Jewel Box Gems 5 &10, and a wonderful pattern to go along with it. My mother-in-law loves snowmen and snowflakes so I am going to make her a snowflake table cover for her to use  when she puts out her snowmen. I was looking on their website and it has some wonderful ideas. I am using ladybugs in my classroom this year at school and I found a ladybug quilt on their website, so of course I am going to have to make it. I will figure out where to put it later. Go and check out their webpage: www.phillipsfiberart.com .

Moving Day !!!

Ok so you are wondering what Moving Day has to do with quilting. My youngest daughter Stephanie moved into her dorm room at University of Tennessee today. I did well and didn't cry, but I still can't believe she is in college already. It was just yesterday that she was in kindergarten. The first thing she ask me was "do you have my T-shirt quilt finished yet mom", and of course I don't but am in the process of making it I will post pictures and maybe even a tutorial on making your T-shirt quilt very soon.

Happy Fourth of July!!

I hope that everyone had a great day celebrating with their family and friends. I spent the day sleeping late, eating good food with friends and of course quilting. I am finishing up a quilt I began YEARS ago when my youngest daughter was about 5 or so, now she is 18 and leaving for college tomorrow...she is taking summer classes. I am sending her away to UT with a pastel log cabin quilt for her dorm room.  Time to look at quilt mag. and fall asleep to the sound of fireworks everywhere.... We are blessed to live in a country where we can celebrate and worship God...like the shirt I made for a friend which said :

Faith    Family    Freedom.....
